The Expedition

This new journey on board S/Y Luis Ginillo, built in Germany in 1970, is part of the KAI Marine Services project, “Tracking Great Pelagics for the Biological Ecosystem Monitoring of the Mediterranean“, which aims to discover the Mediterranean culture and natural treasures.

KAI Marine Services runs and funds this survey on board the Luis Ginillo in the context of its “Tracking Great Pelagics for the Biological Ecosystem Monitoring of the Mediterranean” in which KAI counts on the collaboration of the Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University and NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service.

KAI runs its volunteer programme and its training at sea programme inviting the general public and students respectively to actively be part of applied research programmes.

The research NGO ALNITAK participates in this survey developing the loggerhead turtle tracking study in collaboration with National Geographic, in the context of the OASIS project funded by Fundación Biodiversidad – MAGRAMA.
